They rest of a rock out in the middle of the lake, thinking that they're miles from shore and that the water is too deep. Whatever was in the water crashed into the side of their boat, forcing them to abandon ship. While driving the boat, Mulder notices something on radar: it's big and fast, coming straight for them. Mulder, being as sympathetic as he can, decides to go out for a boat ride and quench this mystery once and for all. Scully never did see what bit through the dog's leash and took him away. While Mulder looks through all of the pictures taken by the determined local, Scully takes Queequeg out for a walk. The two then decide to have a little stake-out. The agents rent a boat to explore the lake. On the contrary, Mulder believes that this "mystical" creature is a prehistoric dinosaur. "Were they saving the other half for later?" Mulder asks. Even if it didn't halve the man, he would have been finished off by the nibbling/ biting of local fish. She believes that a possible propeller in some kind of boat could have done that much damage. The halved body is still not enough evidence for Scully. Mulder and Scully discuss nature, saying that while we may eat them, they, ultimately, eat us. The Boy Scout Troop Leader's body then resurfaces, or at least half of it. Despite his persistent efforts to do so, and out of the hundreds of photos taken, he has been unsuccessful. A local man makes it his priority to photograph Big Blue and make a movie. The locals enjoy the publicity because it brings tourists like them. Scully wonders why a missing person's case would attract Mulder's fascination, until she finds out that the place is the home of a legendary lake monster called "Big Blue." Voltage is basically the amount of electrical power that your lithium battery holds. Some batteries, with an AH of around 100, can run for as long as 36 holes. Pretty much all lithium batteries will easily cover you for 18 holes of golf. In other words, it’s how long the battery will last before it needs recharging. Measured in Ah (ampere-hours), a battery’s capacity is the amount of power it can discharge in a single-use. Things to Consider When Buying a Lithium Battery for Your Golf Cartīefore you confirm a purchase, you’ll want to make sure you’re getting the battery that’s right for you by taking the following into consideration. They’re the best golf cart batteries for the environment by far. Eco-friendly – Due to their lower charge times, and the fact that they contain less hazardous materials, lithium batteries are far better for the environment than lead-acid batteries.Long shelf life – Lithium batteries have a very low rate of self-discharge, meaning they maintain a state of charge for longer when not being used.Long-life – Lithium batteries have up to a 10x longer life cycle than lead-acid batteries. In addition, Battery Management Systems (BMS) have been developed in order to regulate heat, eliminating the risk of overcharging and overheating. Safety – Most lithium batteries utilize Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4), a chemistry that is inherently safe.Just charge them up, and they’re ready to go. Maintenance-free – No water needed, and no cleaning of acid residue required. This is a vast improvement over lead-acid batteries, which can take over 8 hours to fully charge. Fast charging – Lithium batteries can be fully charged within 1-3 hours.Even the best golf carts could benefit from being a little lighter. Plus, it increases your golf cart’s weight-to-performance ratio, enabling you to reach higher speeds with less effort. This makes them significantly easier to install. Lightweight – Lithium batteries are 50-60% lighter than their lead-acid equivalents.Low battery won’t result in sluggish performance. Constant power – Unlike lead-acid batteries, lithium batteries operate at full power throughout discharge, even when they are at less than 5%.What Are the Advantages of Lithium Batteries for Golf Carts? Then, we’ll outline some of the best lithium batteries currently available on the market. In this guide, we’ll cover the benefits of using lithium and the things you should consider when buying them. It was also found that American Indian and Alaska Native adolescents had the largest overdose rate at 11.79 per 100,000, something that remained consistent among the adult population in 2020 as well. In 2020, there were 964 deaths from opioids in the city of Baltimore, nearly triple the number of people who were victims of homicide. When looking at data spanning from January through September, opioid-related deaths increased by 2.09 percent from 1,865 in 2020 to 1,904 in 2021, and fentanyl-related deaths increased by 3 percent from 1,731 to 1,783. Maryland saw an increase in opioid and fentanyl-related deaths in 2021. According to the National Institute of Drug Abuse, 70% of all overdose deaths in 2018 (some 46,802 deaths altogether) involved opioids. Opioid and fentanyl-related deaths have been growing nationwide in recent years. In 2021 there were over 100,000 fatal drug overdoses in the United States, with more than 76,975 of these deaths being attributed to opioids, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. The study found that fentanyl use among adolescents was “identified in 77.14% of adolescent overdose deaths.” Yet, the study found overdose deaths among teens grew exponentially, with the overdose mortality increasing by 94.03 percent from 2019 to 2020 and then again by 20.05 percent from 2020 to 2021. According to a study conducted by The Journal of the American Medical Association, adolescent drug rates didn’t change much over the last decade, with the rate only growing by 0.2 percent between 20. While opioid-related and fentanyl-related deaths have continued to grow, heroin-related deaths have trended downwards.įrom 2018 to 2019, heroin-related deaths nationwide decreased by over 6 percent, while opioid-related deaths and synthetic opioid-related deaths increased by over 6 and 15 percent, respectively.Īccording to American Addiction Centers, fentanyl is cheaper, stronger and easier to obtain, part of the reason for its popularity.įentanyl deaths are also on the rise among teens. According to the United States Drug Enforcement Administration, reports of fentanyl identified in forensic laboratories increased from 5,541 in 2014 to 100,378 in 2019 in the United States. The growth of fentanyl in the United States over the past decade has been substantial. The CDC splits opioid deaths and overdoses into four different categories, natural opioids (which include morphine, codeine and semi-synthetic opioids like oxycodone, hydrocodone, hydromorphone, and oxymorphone), methadone, synthetic opioids other than methadone (fentanyl and tramadol) and heroin.Īccording to the CDC, “reports indicate that increases in synthetic opioid-involved deaths are being driven by increases in fentanyl-involved overdose deaths, and the source of the fentanyl is more likely to be illicitly manufactured than pharmaceutical.” These numbers increased in 2019, with the CDC reporting that nationwide “overdoses involving opioids killed nearly 50,000 people in 2019, and nearly 73 percent of those deaths involved synthetic opioids.” Synthetic opioid-related deaths other than methadone, including fentanyl, also increased in 2018 to 1,825 in Maryland and were involved in upwards of 90 percent of all opioid-related deaths.
